O the love that drew salvation’s planO the grace that brought it down to manO the mighty gulf that God did span, at Calvary

(William R Newell “At Calvary” 1895)

John 6:33-40

For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” They said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.” Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

Jesus Christ came from eternity into time to give light and life to a world void of meaning, hope and fulfilment.  Within every human being there is a hole – a spiritual hole on the inside that only Jesus Christ can fill.  Goodwill gestures done in the guise of the spirit of Christmas won’t fill it. Jesus Christ came to this world with an objective which was not about doing good and noble things at Christmas. He came to save all whom God had given to Him. Jesus Christ is the expression of the everlasting love of God Jeremiah 31:3.

Join us at our Christmas Service on Sunday 22 December at 10am and experience the love of God that saves and gives life.  We look forward to welcoming you!
