We believe that giving is a matter of the heart and a personal choice.  Wonderful examples of the early churches’ attitude toward giving is found in the Epistles (2 Corinthians chapters 8 and 9).

“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”  2 Corinthians 9:7
